After a period of intense inspiration, “Set Your Spirit Free,” Fabrizio Marra‘s new single, is ready to see the light of day. It will be released on Friday, July 25, 2025, on Twister Music Milan. This song is born from a profound experience, an inner journey transformed into music, capable of transcending stereotypes and inviting the listener to break free from convention.
The DJ and producer explains that he found his creative spark during &Me’s DJ set in Milan, at the event organized by Vision at the Ex Macello: “It’s been years since I’ve listened to music like that with that intensity. Those three hours gave me unique sensations, and it was natural to want to translate those emotions into a song of my own. I’m extremely satisfied with the result: it’s like having captured an almost mystical experience in music.”
“Set Your Spirit Free” isn’t just a title, but an invitation to reflect on the concept of freedom: “What does it really mean to be free? Are we sure we are, or are we prisoners of stereotypes? For me, this song represents the desire to break free from conventions, even musical ones. Freedom might be just a fleeting moment, but it’s that moment that makes us feel alive. Philosophy, take me away.”
Created in complete freedom, without pressure, the song was initially sketched out in the artist’s home studio, then refined with the collaboration of producer Markyno, a friend and companion on long creative sessions: “It didn’t take me long: adrenaline and inspiration did the rest. It was a pure creative flow, without any pressure. Perhaps that’s why it’s one of the songs I’m most fond of.” At 7 minutes and 23 seconds, “Set Your Spirit Free” is an immersive experience that invites active listening: “I want the listener to let themselves be transported: dance, dream, think, or simply close their eyes and disconnect. For those few minutes, no rules, no stereotypes… just freedom.”
Fabrizio Marra is a constantly evolving artist, developing new sounds and pushing boundaries as one of the leading tastemakers of global underground house music. As a producer, he continues to challenge preconceptions about his style and the house and techno landscape. His approach perfectly balances the seductive groove of classic house with the energy of techno, adapting to the dexterity required in modern clubs. Few manage to combine musical maturity with innovative creativity: his past experience combined with his drive towards the future make his musical maneuvers irresistibly powerful. He has collaborated with major brands, especially Ibiza Global Radio, playing at the most famous clubs such as Amnesia, Sankeys, and Pacha. After moving to Dubai, he held residencies and hosted his own parties, hosting global DJs like Timo Maas and DJ T, and playing at Pacha Dubai with Todd Terry and Frankie Rizardo. His most notable experience was in 2013 at London’s Ministry of Sound with legends Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, and Justin Berkman for the 25th anniversary of DEF MIX. He currently collaborates with Aperipulp, a historic Neapolitan party, and has played at Extrema Festival in Eindhoven with Danny Tenaglia, DJ Sneak, Carl Cox, Loco Dice, and Cassy.
