Nur Jaber’s EP to the people of Lebanon

Berlin-based Lebanese DJ and producer Nur Jaber is set to release her final EP, “End Of An Era“(NIHAYET HAQBAH), marking the conclusion of her decade-long techno project. Known for blending electronic music with deep emotional themes tied to her homeland, Lebanon, Nur’s new work pays homage to the resilience of her people, her concern for the dehumanisation of Arabic people and culture and exploring her personal rebirth.“I dedicate this EP to the people of Lebanon. We are more than numbers and casualties; we are artistic, creative, and rooted in a culture that is rich and mystical,” says Nur.

“As part of the world feels like it’s turning against us during this devastating time, brainwashing the masses, I proudly say I am Lebanese and I stand with my brothers & sisters. We will not be erased, we will not be victimised and we will not be forgotten.” The EP reflects her personal journey, touching on the devastating conflicts in Lebanon while celebrating the unbreakable spirit of its people. Nour Jaber adopted the name ‘Nur Jaber’ to resonate with Western audiences, but her music has always carried the heartbeat of Beirut. Her previous work, including the 2017 EP ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction,’ addressed the trauma of war. This final EP continues that narrative, blending her Arabic heritage with modern electronic sounds.

The lead single, ‘Habibi (Our Legacy Lives)’, is a powerful anthem celebrating Arabic culture. “We will not be erased, we will not be forgotten,” Nur asserts, honoring the history and strength of her people through this uplifting track. “I have channeled my ancestors and their voices through this entire EP,” she continues.Other highlights include ‘Ravi (We Prayed from Lebanese Soil)’, written during the first few weeks of the Gaza genocide, and ‘L’Maktoub’ (meaning Destiny/It is Written), which fuses traditional and contemporary musical influences, reflecting her belief in the interconnectedness of cultures and generations.

‘END OF AN ERA’ not only closes the chapter on Nur’s current musical identity but also signals her spiritual and artistic evolution. “The time has come to let her go as I welcome renewed energy and growth as an artist,” she says, thanking her loyal fans who have supported her journey from intimate sets to global stages.Born into a musical family in Beirut with a dedication to play piano and drums, Nur Jaber moved to Berlin in 2010 and quickly immersed herself in its vibrant techno scene.
