This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit musicme.it, read the magazine or write to the newsroom. It is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018). Cookies and similar technologies are described in detail in the Cookie Policy.
The data controller is Kdope S.r.l., Corso Europa 15, 20122 Milan, Italy, VAT number 11771560965, REA MI-2623903, certified email (PEC) kdope@pec.it. For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights, write to info@musicme.it. Kdope S.r.l. has not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as it is not required to do so under Article 37 GDPR.
Like any website, the servers that host musicme.it automatically record technical data when pages are requested: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the browser and operating system used, and the response code. This data is used to deliver the pages, keep the site secure and diagnose faults, and is kept in the hosting provider’s server logs for the limited time needed for those purposes.
When you use the contact form or write to us by email, we receive the data you choose to provide: name or alias, email address, the topic and the content of your message, plus any attachments or links. Please do not send special categories of data (health, political opinions, religious beliefs and the like) unless strictly necessary. If you send us a tip, we treat the identity of the source with discretion and do not publish it without your agreement.
Only if you accept statistics cookies, the site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure, in aggregate, how pages are visited. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Some pages show players or content from third parties, such as Spotify. These are loaded only after you consent to marketing cookies, or when you click to activate the specific player. Once loaded, the third party may collect data according to its own policy.
When you accept, reject or customise cookies, the site stores your choice in a technical cookie and keeps a record of the consent given (date, time, version of the banner and categories chosen) so that it can demonstrate that the consent was collected correctly.
Browsing data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure and functioning website. Data you send us is processed to answer your message and handle your request, on the basis of steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b)) or, for tips and general enquiries, our legitimate interest in running the newsroom (Article 6(1)(f)). Statistics, embedded content and any non-technical cookies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code), which you can withdraw at any time. The consent record is kept to comply with our accountability obligations (Articles 5(2) and 7(1) GDPR).
Messages received through the contact form or by email are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and, in any case, for no longer than 24 months after the last exchange, unless they become part of an ongoing collaboration or are needed to protect our rights. Server logs are kept for the short period set by the hosting provider. Consent records are kept for the duration of the consent and for the time needed to demonstrate it. Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Your data is not sold and is not disclosed to the public. It may be processed on our behalf by providers acting as data processors under Article 28 GDPR, in particular the hosting provider Hostinger International Ltd (Larnaca, Cyprus), the provider of the email service used to receive messages, and Google Ireland Limited for Google Analytics, where you have given consent. Third parties whose content you choose to load, such as Spotify AB (Stockholm, Sweden), act as independent controllers. Data may also be disclosed to authorities where required by law.
Some providers, including Google, may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for certified companies, or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission (Articles 45 and 46 GDPR).
You can ask at any time to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (Articles 15 to 20 GDPR). You can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21) and withdraw your consent whenever you like, without affecting what was done before the withdrawal; for cookies, just use the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. Write to info@musicme.it: we reply within one month, as required by Article 12 GDPR. If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live or work (Article 77 GDPR).
Browsing data is needed for the site to work. Giving us your details through the contact form is optional, but without an email address we cannot reply. Refusing statistics or marketing cookies has no effect on your ability to read the magazine. No decision about you is taken by automated means, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
The site is intended for adult readers. In Italy, consent to information society services given by a child under 14 is valid only if given or authorised by a parent (Article 2-quinquies of the Italian Privacy Code); if you are under that age, please do not send us personal data.
This policy may be updated when the site, its services or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version; substantial changes will be highlighted on the site.
