Roland and New Balance have joined forces to celebrate the iconic 808 Day with an exclusive sneaker, the Tiago Lemos NM808. This collaboration draws inspiration from Roland’s legendary TR-808 drum machine, a cornerstone in hip-hop and electronic music. Available from August 8th, these sneakers blend retro style with innovation, featuring details like the TR-808 logo on the tongue and a detachable drum machine charm. Made from black suede and mesh, these shoes offer exceptional comfort with features like a reinforced toecap and internal foam pods.
The collaboration also includes an exclusive clothing collection available on the Roland Lifestyle website. Additionally, to mark the event, Roland and New Balance will release a short film on YouTube featuring Tiago Lemos and DJ Cut Chemist. Cut Chemist highlighted the historical significance of the TR-808, calling it a revolution in modern music.
That’s not all: 808 Day will feature a live event on Twitch called “808 Live,” with performances by legendary DJs like Grandmaster Flash and DJ Melo-D.
